Oxford Owls Youth Baseball welcomes children aged 6-14 of all abilities. Whether your child is picking up a baseball for the first time or already loves the game, they’ll be very welcome with us. We focus on fun, learning, confidence, and giving young players the chance to develop at the right pace.

Our youth programme includes a mix of skills sessions, game play, and opportunities for players to develop at the right level for their age and experience. For newer players, that means a fun and supportive introduction to baseball. For more experienced players, it means meaningful competition and a chance to keep progressing — including through the British Baseball Federation (BBF) youth leagues and, for some of our players, through Team GB age-group selection.
We want Oxford youth baseball to be:
- warm and welcoming for first-time players
- well-organised and enjoyable for families
- development-focused
- ambitious in the right way for players ready to push on
What does my child need to bring? Players should wear comfortable sports clothing suitable for running on grass, plus a hat, water bottle, and any snacks they may need. A baseball glove is great if they have one, but we also have equipment available to borrow.
Does my child need previous experience? Not at all. Everyone is welcome.
What does it cost? Oxford Owls Youth Baseball is a not-for-profit programme. All of our coaches are volunteers, and we work hard to keep the programme accessible. Our 2026 participation fees are:
- Minors (ages ~6–10): £30 for the entire season
- Majors (ages ~11–14): £60 for the entire season
These fees cover facility hire, equipment, insurance, and the general costs of running the programme. We also benefit from grant funding to support youth baseball.
Your first few sessions are free — your child can come along and try baseball with no cost or commitment.
Safeguarding — We take safeguarding seriously. All sessions are run by DBS advanced-checked coaches, and parents and guardians are always welcome to stay and watch our youth sessions. Please see our Safeguarding page for more information.
Interested in joining? We’d love to hear from you! Please contact us to find out more or to come along to a session.
